Abstract

Women’s social protection is an important aspect of social development and inclusive employment. In addition to professional responsibilities, women often carry significant family and caregiving responsibilities, which may increase their social and economic vulnerability. Trade unions and social work institutions can contribute to reducing these challenges by providing social support, protecting labor rights, promoting equal opportunities, and assisting women in difficult life situations. This thesis analyzes the role of trade unions and social work in strengthening women’s social protection. Special attention is given to preventing workplace discrimination, supporting women in employment, improving access to social services, promoting professional development, and balancing work and family responsibilities. The study emphasizes that coordinated cooperation between trade unions, social workers, employers, and state institutions can create more effective mechanisms for protecting women’s social and labor rights.
