CHALLENGES IN TRANSLATION STUDIES

This study examines the main challenges in Translation Studies, focusing on both theoretical and practical aspects of the translation process. Translation is viewed not only as a linguistic transfer between languages but also as an intercultural and communicative activity that requires a deep understanding of language systems and cultural contexts. The annotation discusses how differences in grammar, vocabulary, style, and pragmatics create difficulties in achieving accuracy, equivalence, and naturalness in translation.
Special attention is given to issues such as equivalence, untranslatability, cultural specificity, and the role of the translator in interpreting and conveying meaning. The study also addresses contemporary challenges related to globalization and the increasing use of machine translation and computer-assisted translation tools, highlighting their advantages as well as their limitations. The research aims to contribute to a clearer understanding of translation challenges and effective translation strategies in modern Translation Studies.
