Ushbu maqolada XV asr Temuriylar davlatida shakllangan Samarqand ilmiy maktabining yetuk vakili Ali Qushchining (1403–1474) ilm-fan rivojiga qo‘shgan hissasi va uning Temuriylar davri ilm-fanidagi o‘rni tahlil etiladi. Olimning astronomiya sohasidagi nazariy qarashlari, rasadxona kuzatuv faoliyati, matematika va geometriya ilmilaridagi salohiyati hamda “Zij” an’anasi va Ulug‘bek ilmiy merosini rivojlantirishdagi roli yoritiladi. Ali Qushchi Samarqand rasadxonasi muhitida shakllangan matematik-astronomik uslubni o‘zlashtirib, uni nazariy jihatdan mustahkamlagan va keyinchalik Tabriz hamda Istanbul ilmiy muhitlariga olib o‘tgan olim sifatida baholanadi. Tadqiqot natijalari uning Ptolemey astronomiyasiga tanqidiy munosabati va astronomiyani falsafiy asoslardan mustaqil matematik-kuzatuv fan sifatida talqin qilishdagi o‘rnini ochib beradi. Maqola tarixiy manbalar va zamonaviy tadqiqotlar asosida yozilgan bo‘lib, Temuriylar ilm-fani tarixini chuqurroq tushunishga xizmat qiladi.
